What strikes you about this film?
What really struck me about this film was that the humans in the film showed less emotion than the robots, mainly HAL. In this film it seemed as if over time humans showed less and less emotion. In the beginning of the film, it showed apes that would eventually evolve into humans. These apes were ruled by their emotions. Later, after technology became an essential for humans to survive, the humans showed very few emotions. An example of the machine, HAL, showing more emotion than the humans was at the end of the second part of the film. As Dave started to shut HAL down, HAL kept saying, "Dave, I'm scared. Dave stop." While HAL was saying this he sounded genuinely scared. During the movie the humans barely showed genuine emotions such as this.
